Tiles on Wheels is a piece designed to function both as a stool and a bookshelf, accommodating a set of six untitled books containing photographs of uncontrolled compositions. The purpose behind producing these books is to celebrate smudges and hidden adhesives—the unseen elements that hold objects together—by uncovering what is usually meant to remain unseen.
Inspired by the content of these bound galleries, the exterior of the structure is clad in white polished bathroom tiles, while the interior walls are lined with plexiglass. The plexiglass reveals smudges from the adhesive when pressure is applied to the surfaces, creating unpredictable marks—an intentionally uncontrollable effect that references the content of the books. These smudges become visible when the books are removed or when the structure is flipped upside down, underscoring the concept of impermanence and the transient nature of physical interaction.
