3200dpi_uncoated is a font derived from digitizing Dual Gothic, a lesser-known typeface of the IBM Selectric typewriter family.
After acquiring the type ball, experiments were conducted by typing on various papers of different weights and finishes. The most satisfactory results, compared to regular, normal, or book-weight fonts with a numerical value of 400, came from Hammermill uncoated stock. The filled pages were scanned at a 3200dpi resolution, and selected characters were digitized through three automated processes to preserve the smudgy feel of the ink on paper, mimicking stain-like tactile marks with 'blurry' pixels on the screen.
Unlike the monospaced Dual Gothic, 3200dpi_uncoated is proportionally spaced.
For the Slovakian language, diacritics were created by modifying the + and - symbols.
Licensing and extended character sets for additional languages are available upon request.
